This is a very simple request.
Do you give money to St Michaels?
Do you, or your spouse or partner, pay tax, on earnings or savings?
Would you like us to receive from the Inland Revenue another 28.2 pence for every pound you give?
Thank you, if you have signed the very simple covering form, and give in a way that allows us to record your giving. (This means in envelopes, which we provide, or by Standing Order.)
The request is this: if you give, and pay tax, but your giving is not recorded (loose), would you consider allowing your giving to be recorded, and sign a very simple Gift Aid form?
Gift Aid is not like a covenant. There is no promise to pay any set amount, nor to give for any length of time.
Perhaps, like me, you appreciate the church being here, offering us an opportunity to come to ourselves through it, bringing weaknesses and strengths. I am glad that money is not talked about much. Still, a little mental arithmetic can provoke thought.
We receive much more, too, such as the effort and care with which the Probation Service redecorate.
Gift Aid (that extra 28.2%) is a very great help to us. Please consider this. If you would like envelopes, or Standing Order details, please ask me. Perhaps I shall ask you.
